It’s an admission that the view from that
reflective surface is skewed. In reality, what seems distant is actually much closer.
Sometimes we can think that we have moved past joy or faith
or hope or love; and due to a hindsight warped and clouded by hurt, pain, or
grief, they look so distant from us. The good news is that they’re much closer
than they appear. They’re never farther away than the breath of a prayer
escaping our lips.
